Guided Tours

Expert guides bring the collections to life

Guided tours are led by specialist guides with deep knowledge of Irish language, history, and cultural heritage. Tours run at scheduled times throughout the day and can also be arranged for private groups by prior booking. Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and covers the highlights of the permanent collection.

Guided Tour
A structured visit led by a trained museum guide, covering key exhibits with expert commentary. Available in English and Irish.
Private Tour
A guided tour arranged exclusively for your group, with a customised itinerary. Minimum group size of 6 applies.
Thematic Tour
A specialist tour focusing on a specific aspect of the collection, such as Gaelic manuscripts, traditional music, or oral history.

Workshops & Events

The museum's workshop programme offers hands-on experiences across a range of Gaelic cultural traditions. All workshops require pre-booking and have limited places. The programme changes seasonally; check the museum's events calendar for current availability.

Group Bookings

Groups of 10 or more visitors qualify for a reduced admission rate and can arrange dedicated entry slots to avoid congestion. Group bookings must be made at least 14 days in advance. A designated group coordinator is required for all group visits.

Education Programmes

The museum offers curriculum-linked education programmes for primary and secondary schools, as well as higher education institutions. Programmes are available in English and Irish and are aligned with the Irish and UK national curricula. Teachers are admitted free of charge when accompanying a school group.
